Anand Palani, Ph.D.
Vice President, Medicinal Chemistry Synthesis
Anand brings nearly three decades of experience in drug discovery, with specialized expertise in small molecules and peptides. Before joining Parabilis, he spent 28 years at Schering-Plough/Merck, where he led a portfolio of projects and advanced eight preclinical candidates to the clinic. He also played a key role in the discovery of Rolapitant, a marketed oncology drug for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.
Anand excels in managing high-functioning project teams, fostering productive cross-functional collaborations, and building external partnerships. He has authored over 150 patents and publications.
Anand earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Utah, where he worked under the guidance of Professor Gary E. Keck. He later completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University with Professor E.J. Corey.
